CAL FIRE Local 2881 members are working around-the-clock to extinguish historic wildland fires across the state. Many have lost their own homes, destroyed by the fast-moving fires.
Throughout the summer, the pace has been 200-250 fires per week, according to CAL FIRE Local 2881 President Mike Lopez, with the worst yet to come.
The immediate need is for donations to the IAFF Disaster Relief Fund:
